About the Role:
Burr Ridge Veterinary in Darien, IL is looking for a friendly and organized Veterinary Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our clinic! In this role, you'll play a vital part in creating a positive experience for pets and their owners from the moment they walk through our doors. Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a positive and stress-free check-in experience
- Schedule and confirm appointments, managing the clinic's calendar efficiently
- Answer multi-line phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to veterinary staff
- Process payments, manage invoicing, and handle client accounts accurately
- Maintain and update electronic medical records and patient files
- Communicate discharge instructions, follow-up care, and medication information to pet owners
- Coordinate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure smooth patient flow
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a veterinary, medical, or customer service receptionist role preferred
- Genuine love for animals and compassion for pet owners in stressful situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with scheduling software and basic computer skills; experience with veterinary practice management software a plus
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinic environment
- Reliable, punctual, and a collaborative team player
